About FST

What makes FST different?

FST is a nationally recognised, domestic-only training provider specialising in telecommunications and ICT. We're a new provider, small enough that you deal directly with the people running the place — trainers with real, current industry experience, not a call centre.

Courses and enrolment

Is FST training nationally recognised?

Yes, all FST courses are nationally recognised.

What’s the enrolment process like?

Contact us to start your enquiry. We'll talk through entry requirements and fit, then complete your enrolment together.

Can I study online, or is it all in person?

Courses are available face-to-face, depending on the course.

Are evening or weekend sessions available? Check with us

We'll confirm this with you directly — get in touch.

When will I get my certificate after finishing?

We are required to issue your certificate within 30 calendar days of you meeting all requirements. We aim to issue within two weeks.

Do any courses have entry requirements I should know about?

Some short courses have entry conditions or licensing prerequisites, noted on each course page. We'll confirm what applies to you before you enrol.

Do I need a USI before I can enrol?

Yes. Every learner in nationally recognised training needs a Unique Student Identifier (USI). It's free to create at usi.gov.au.

What’s a White Card, and does FST offer it?

A White Card is the mandatory entry credential for construction site work in Australia. FST's White Card course is coming soon — pending WorkSafe Victoria registration.

RPL and credit transfer

Can my previous experience count toward a qualification?

Yes, RPL is genuinely assessed on a case-by-case basis. Given the practical, safety-critical nature of our units, most students will still need to demonstrate the skill in person — we always have the conversation.

I’ve already completed one of the units — do I have to do it again?

If you've completed an equivalent unit — at FST or elsewhere — a credit transfer may apply, on confirmation from your Statement of Attainment or USI transcript.

Fees and payment

How can I pay my course fees? Check with us

We'll confirm this with you directly — get in touch.

Is there a payment plan option? Check with us

We'll confirm this with you directly — get in touch.

What happens if I need to cancel after booking?

Please refer to our cancellation and refund policy, or contact our Student Services office.

Is any of FST’s training government-funded?

No — FST is fee-for-service only, domestic students only. We don't offer government-subsidised places.

Student support

Where do I find my course materials once I’m enrolled? Check with us

We'll confirm this with you directly — get in touch.

Who should I talk to if I need support?

Get in touch with our Student Services office — for course-related or personal support, confidentially, whenever you need it.

What should I do if I’m going to be late to class?

Contact us as soon as possible so your trainer knows.
