The Jumper Metallic Conductor Cable in the Access Network (Skill 1) course develops the practical skills required to carry out jumpering activities on metallic conductor cabling within access network cabinets and exchange distribution frames. The training relates to both new connections and changes to existing network cabling where services need to be rearranged or upgraded.
Learners develop an understanding of the work processes involved in preparing termination points, making jumper connections, checking the completed work and maintaining accurate records. The course is relevant to telecommunications lines workers, technicians and jointers who undertake indoor or outdoor distribution frame work. Jumpering activities must be performed by workers who are authorised by the relevant network owner or carrier.
Successful completion of the course results in a Statement of Attainment for ICTCBL320.
