CCTV Installation develops the practical skills and knowledge required to install, configure and maintain video surveillance systems and associated equipment. Learners work with the tools, materials and cable termination methods used when establishing CCTV and audio systems in extra-low voltage environments.
The training covers the preparation and coordination of installation work, including selecting suitable equipment, following client requirements and applying safe work practices. Learners also develop skills in testing systems, diagnosing faults and carrying out routine servicing and maintenance to support reliable system operation.
The course is relevant to people undertaking routine security equipment installation and maintenance work under the direction of experienced workers. CCTV installation activities must also take account of applicable Australian Standards, National Construction Code requirements and any licensing or regulatory obligations that apply to security work in the relevant state or territory.
